There are two birds flying
Rising and falling
Like two dots in the clear blue sky
Speeding like arrows
to the land and to the sea
How lovely to see
These two birds flying happily
Soaring the heights of the sky
so wild and free
Unaware of the gods’ jealousy
These two birds plummeted toward the sea
So deep and dark where no one could see
Days and nights passed
But the birds are nowhere to be seen
No more dots nor arrows
circling the empty space of the sky
Only low, lonely sounds from distant
